It was lovely to see all students settling in to the new school year over the past week. Our new preps are doing a great job navigating their way around the daily routine. It is such a joy to see their enthusiasm!

On Monday our new School Captains Eva and Silas, and our Vice Captains Lenny and Claire, were presented with their badges by the Mayor of the Mt Alexander Shire Council, Bronwen Machin. Congratulations to our school leaders. We look forward to seeing you develop your leadership qualities throughout the year. Next week we will present the House Captains with their badges.

Grade 5/6s are all working on their leadership skills, and this week were discussing what they would like to see in our school. They have come up with some wonderful ideas for things they could do to lead their learning.Over the coming weeks they will be researching their ideas and writing a plan to implement them. They will need to convince staff and their peers of the merit of their plan. We also shared our area of passion: sport, the environment, computers, Indigenous culture, and fundraising were some of the most popular. Students will work with like minded students to look at how we can develop these passions within our school community, and to connect with the wider community.

There are three vacancies on School Council this year. It is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in the future direction of the school, and I encourage people to nominate.

Thank you!

We have received your message and will be in contact shortly.
