The streets of Newstead...

...Reverberated with the chants of “Lalgambook”, “Tarrengower”, “Leanganook” and “Palodyl” on Friday as the school made our way down to the pool for the Swimming Carnival. It was great to be a part of the excitement. Congratulations to Lalgambook for their win, and to all the students, for their endeavours. I was very impressed with the positive encouragement I heard students giving each other.

Thanks to Jo Deppeler for her fantastic organisation, and to Craig and Bronwyn for providing the barbecue, and to all the parents and grandparents who helped with supervision and support. It was a wonderful showcase for Newstead Primary School!

Yesterday I met with principals in the region to look at the Practice Principles for excellence in teaching and learning. These principles will give teachers the resources to support school improvement, as part of the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes. This year teachers at Newstead will be investigating high impact teaching strategies and will be sharing them with you as the year progresses. Improving the educational outcomes for every student is always at the forefront of what we do.

Don’t forget Waterhole this weekend!

Regards,

Bernadette
