Great Transitions

We have had another fantastic transition day with the 2019 prep students this week. It was great to see the new students enjoying the classroom activities but also being able to have their first ‘big school’ recess. Our third transition day will be next Tuesday 20th November and students will be staying until 1pm.

On Monday and Tuesday next week, Jo Deppeler and myself will be taking the Grade 2/3 students on their adventure camp to Campaspe Downs. Students are very excited about all of the activities that are planned. The bus will be picking students up at 9am sharp on Monday.

The State Election is heading our way quickly with the school being a polling site for Newstead. Voting will take place in the Art Room between 8am and 6pm on Saturday 24th November. The school is also able to fundraise during this day by holding a sausage sizzle. We really need help with two things to make this a great event. Firstly, we need to have a number of volunteers to assist with cooking on the BBQ but we also need everyone to bring their money while they vote!! Spread the word!

Lastly, I was very honoured to receive a donation to the the school today from the Laceys’ Open Garden. The Laceys’ kindly donated $50 to the Junior School Council as part of the Grandparents’ and Friends’ Day visits. The Laceys’ Open Garden had over 650 visitors this year! It was also fantastic to learn the local CFA was donated $1350 from the open garden. Local community at its best!
